About
Built for the runners who keep getting hurt.
Most running advice is written for people who don't get injured. Run more. Run faster. Add a workout. It works — right up until your Achilles flares, your knee complains, or your shin won't quiet down, and you're back to square one. Again.
Durable Running is for the rest of us. The serious amateurs who love the sport but seem to spend half of every year hurt. The 35-and-up crowd whose bodies don't bounce back the way they used to. The people for whom the hardest part of training isn't the training — it's stringing enough of it together to matter.
Our premise is simple: fitness isn't the bottleneck — durability is. You don't need a more aggressive plan. You need a body that can absorb the plan you already have. And durability, it turns out, is trainable. This site is where we collect what works — the load science, the strength work, the small habits — and translate it into things you can actually do.
The thinking behind the app
Durable Running is the public, no-login layer of an idea we also built into a product. Startline Coach is an AI training partner for runners who keep getting hurt: it takes whatever plan you're following — a coach's PDF, a screenshot, a ChatGPT block, your own scribbles — and turns it into a day-by-day training plan that watches your load and adapts the moment your body pushes back.
Where this publication gives you the principles, the app applies them to your week. If the ideas here resonate, that's the natural next step.
